Speed Grapher aired in 2005, when MySpace was still a novelty and YouTube was barely a year old. Yet the series mapped out a world where the act of capturing someone — photographically, voyeuristically, without consent — was a form of power that the wealthy could weaponize and the powerless couldn't escape. That description fits 2005. It also fits right now, uncomfortably well.
